APPLICATION FOR COMPETENT PERSONS FOR DEVELOPMENT ON D4 DOLOMITE LAND - CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS 06 MAY 2019
The Tshwane Metropolitan Council has imposed a moratorium on the development of D4 dolomite land until they have been provided with a list of competent persons by the profession. The Geotechnical Division has therefore initiated the process to have our members registered. For more information see the letter below from our Chairman.

Application of Finite Element method to Design the Geosynthetic
In the proposed design course, the philosophy of the reinforcing soil with geosynthetic for improvement of the geotechnical structures, the physical interactions in the reinforced system will be discussed. The short course is intended to cover the aspects associated with the numerical simulation of the geosynthetic-reinforced systems from fundamental aspects to practical applications. This workshop seeks to demystify the design of geosynthetic-reinforced soils by providing a variety of strategies and approaches that participants can utilize in their own desired problems.
