It represents a comprehensive approach to improving personal proficiency throughout one’s career. Recognized as a leader in CPD accreditation, SAICE ensures that professionals receive approval for their CPD activities. This update aims to address common queries and provide guidance on claiming credits in this dynamic field.

The SAICE Geotechnical Division integrates CPD opportunities into its courses and events, supporting professionals in staying abreast of industry advancements and maintaining excellence in their practice.

           

CPD Category 1 & Credits

  • Compulsory Category
  • Developmental Activities – Validated CPD courses, training programmes, conferences and workshops
  • Presentation of seminars, courses, workshops and papers
  • 10 hrs = 1 CPD credit

CPD Category 1 & Credits

  • Work based Activities 400 hrs = 1 CPD Credit (Maximum 2 credits per annum)
  • Mentoring 50 hrs = 1 CPD Credit (Ma)

CPD Category 1 & Credits

  • Individual Activities
  • Membership of a SACNASP recognised Voluntary Association (VA) 1 CPD credit per year
  • Other Approved Activities for example part-time lecturing, research, further studies, participation in statutory and professional, institutional, science committees 30 hours = 1 CPD credit
  • No maximum credits per annum
