Held under the auspices of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), the sub-regional conference brought together more than 200 professionals from across Southern Africa. Over three days, geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, scientists, researchers, and practitioners gathered to exchange knowledge, showcase research, and discuss the latest advances and challenges in geotechnical practice.
The conference provided a valuable platform for collaboration, learning, and professional growth—strengthening connections within the region’s geotechnical community and reaffirming Southern Africa’s role in advancing soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
