The Geotechnical Division is affiliated to the ISSMGE (International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering) and has approximately 550 members.
The web site offers contact information of its members, committees as well as information on events taking place that are of interest to civil engineers and geotechnicians. SAICE (South African Institution of Civil Engineering), is the Learned Society and professional home for almost 8 000 civil engineers, technologists and technicians.
The ISSMGE has initiated a project to create an entirely virtual Time Capsule that brings together and provides a common heritage to all geotechnical engineers. For more information and contributions click here
